Power Module Capacity Failure

Overview

Applicable Errors: 

6149 - J1 power module capacity failure 

614A - J2 power module capacity failure 

614B- J3 power module capacity failure 

614C - J4 power module capacity failure 

614D - J5 power module capacity failure 

614E - J6 power module capacity failure 

614F - J7 power module capacity failure 

6150 - J8 power module capacity failure 

 

Error Description: 

The power module (IPM) does not match the motor parameter values.  

 

Possible Remedy:  

  • IPM card capacity does not match specified value– Install the correct card for the joint generating the error  

  • IPM card failure – Replace IPM card  

  • Servo Harness board failure – Replace Servo Harness board 

  • Power Supply failure – Replace Power Supply 


Tools and Parts Needed

 Full sized teaching pendant 

#2 Philips screwdriver 


Step by Step Guide


Step 1  

Confirm affected joints on the power module information screen Make note of affected joints.


From the main screen of the pendant select -arm – shift - maint - Pm inf. 

 


Step 2

Power down controller, unplug controller and remove upper cover. Install correct capacity cards.  IPM Map is noted on top of controller.  



 

Step 3

To confirm IPM capacity check the top of the card.   



 

Step 4

If error persists, the controller will need further service / parts replacement
