An EDS file, which is read in the network configuration software, is  used to   establish, manage, and design networks on your PC. There are several ways to obtain a copy of this file:

DENSO Wave site

You can find a copy of the EDS file for the RC8 controller and other models on our DENSO Wave site.

https://www.denso-wave.com/en/robot/download/application/j1eds.html

Directly from the robot controller (Applies to RC8 / RC8A / COBOTTA)

  1. Make sure that you know your controller's IP Address and that your PC has and IP Addres that is within the same network as your controller.
  2. Open a Web browser and go to the following addess  http://<RC8 IP   Address>/eds/. Replace <RC8 IP Address> for the IP address of your controller for example 192.168.0.1
  3. Download the file  denso_RC8_eia_V1.1.eds

You can also obtain a copy of the EDS file from by connecting to the controller.

Please consult the owner's manual for more details and latest information on EDS file and DeviceNet https://www.fa-manuals.denso-wave.com/en/usermanuals/005836/
