Error 8150202C “Specified field network device does not exist” for (RC8/RC8A)

If you see the following error this means that within your project the designated field bus is not set correctly.

Solution

To correct this error you will need to first open a fresh version of your Wincaps III project.

Then you will go to Project -> Properties

Then select the I/O tab at the top and click on the drop-down arrow next to “Device”


Select the field bus card you have installed in your controller. If you do not have an additional card installed (DeviceNet, Ethernet IP, CC-Link, etc.) then you will need to select “Mini IO” and then click “OK”.


Then go to Connect -> Transfer Data -> Extend “Parameter” and check the I/O box -> Click “Send”

Once you have completed downloading your changes you will need to reboot your controller.

The error should be gone once the controller reboots
