What is the difference between Standard and Compatible Allocation modes?
Answer
Status bit (IO) mapping and usage. Standard Allocation is recommended for new projects and Compatible is available for upgrading older RC3 version controllers to the newer RC8 (The port assignment is similar to RC3). If you are having issues with status IO bits lining up correctly on your PLC, then check this mode and make sure you are using the correct port assignment for the mode you have selected. For exact mapping/port assignment refer to the manual pages below.
